Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs)

Structural panels are prefabricated wall sections that contain structural polystyrene insulation cores surrounded by structural sheeting material similar to plywood or wafferboard. The polystyrene is laminated with the structural sheeting wood and and formed into modular sections for assembly. Each panel is sequentially aligned and fitted into the architectural design of the project so that assembly is done by fastening panels together in a series to complete the entire and complete frame of the building. SIPs are structurally sound for building walls, roofs and floors. Structural Insulated forms can also be used to better insulation barriers for construction projects which require foundations below ground levels. This means that a basement or below ground construction has an insulating barrier of polystyrene to protect against hot and cold climates.
